To edit the access rights of Reports, follow these steps:
Step 1 Log into the MDP
Step 2 Click Discovery in the main menu
Step 3 Hover the mouse over Reporting
Step 4 Click Reports
All available reports based on the user’s assigned role(s) are listed here.
Note: All reports built by Marquis are grouped within the Marquis category and are further segmented into sub-categories to easily locate specific types of reports based on the information they will provide. Any reports that have been customized by your institution will be located within your own institution category.
Step 5 Click the desired category to isolate a type of report, if desired
Step 6 To select a report, click the bold report name
If the report being updated is an existing customized report, navigate to Step 8
Step 7 Prior to customizing, click Save As in the top right menu
7.1 Modify the report Name
7.2 Save As will be defaulted to “Reports”
Note: The Category and Sub-category enables the ability to further organize the reports configured and saved specifically for your institution but are not required.
7.3 To select an existing category, click the drop-down arrow and click the desired category
7.4 To create a new category, type in the desired category name and click ENTER on the keyboard
7.5 To select a sub-category, click the drop-down arrow to select from a list or type in the desired sub-category and click ENTER on the keyboard
Note: If inputting a new category or sub-category, you must click ENTER on the keyboard in order to establish them. If you do not click enter, the category or sub-category will be removed. The new category will show in the All Reports menu on the left side of the page under your Institution’s name.
7.6 Click the OK button
Step 8 Click Edit
8.1 Click Design
Step 9 Click the Access Rights button located on the left-hand menu
Note: By default, the Share With will be Everyone and the Access Rights will be Save As. Change, add and remove as desired for the report.
Step 10 To edit the “Share With” level, click the drop-down arrow in the desired Share With instance
Step 11 Select the level to assign the Access Rights from the list

- Everyone – Access Rights will be applied to all users regardless of role
- Role – A selected Access will be applied to the selected role(s)
- User – A selected Access will be applied to the selected user(s)

11.1 Select the Role(s) or User(s) to apply the access to by clicking the plus symbol button
11.2 Place a check mark in the box next to each desired role or user
11.3 Click the OK button
11.4 Click the X next to a selected role or user to remove it
Step 12 Select the Access Rights to be applied
12.1 Click the drop-down arrow in the Access Rights box
12.2 Click on the desired access
Step 13 To add a “Share With” setting, click the Add Sharing button
13.1 Click on the Shared With instance
13.2 Select at what level to assign the Access Rights from the list
13.3 Select the Role(s) or User(s) to apply the access to by clicking the plus symbol button
13.4 Place a check mark in the box next to each desired role or user
13.5 Click the OK button
13.6 Click the drop-down arrow in the Access Rights box to select the Access Rights to be applied
Step 14 To delete a Share With instance, click the X in the Action box for the desired item
Step 15 Click Save button and choose Save
Step 16 To navigate back to report view, click the Report Viewer button
