There are multiple ways a geocode can be populated in the Compliance Data Platform software. This field reflects the specific source used for an individual record's geocode data.
Below are the Geocode Source values that users may see on records and:
A - FFIEC: ArcGIS, the primary source used by the Marquis geocoding service. This is also the source used by the FFIEC's Geocoder. For further details on that source see Additional Resources section at bottom at the bottom of this guide.
C - CenTrax: CenTrax NEXT address deck, this was previously used as a secondary geocoding source if results were not returned by the FFIEC. This may reflect on files for activity years 2021 and earlier.
F - FFIEC: This represents the original FFIEC geocode source previously used by the Marquis geocoding service This may reflect as a geocode source on older historical files.
G - Geocod.io: Geocod.io is the current secondary geocoding source if results are not returned by the FFIEC. This may reflect on files for activity years 2022 and later.
I - Imported: This represents a geocode combination that was populated from the data import process. This source may reflect if there are geocode fields present in an external file (i.e., Excel, text, other formats) that is being uploaded and mapped to an import definition.
M - Selected from Picklist or Edited - This stands for Manual. This code is retained for historical purposes and might reflect on older files
P - Permanent - This option can be populated on individual records in Data Entry or applied via a Replace command. It can be used so if a change is made (i.e. address change in Data Entry) or if DataPro>Geocode is re-run on a file the existing geocode(s) is retained.
U - User Entered - This code may reflect when the geocode is manually entered or edited via the Geocode Override function in Data Entry>Edit or Discovery>Manual Geocode.
