The following steps will be used for importing a Branch file into the CDP system.
Tip: This process works best for branch files which are saved in CSV format. At minimum, CSV branch files should contain columns for:
- Branch code
- Branch name
- Branch identifier
- Address
- City
- State
- Zip
Step 1 Log into the Compliance Data Platform.
The active Institution and File will display in the upper right-hand section to the left of the name of the user logged in.
Step 2 Click Settings
Step 3 Hover over Organization
Step 4 Click on Branches from the list of sub-categories
Step 5 To import a new branch file, click Import and select "From File."
Step 6 Click the "Choose File" button
Step 7 Browse out to the saved location of the CSV branch file.
Step 8 Select the desired CSV branch file from its locally saved location and choose "Open".
Step 9 Ensure that the Header line count is correct.
Step 10 Click Load File.
Step 11 Choose the desired Yes/No responses for:
-Update Existing Branches - typically only used if the same branch file will be uploaded again with modifications, after the initial import
- Lookup table maintenance - populates branch information based on lookup fields
Step 12 Beginning with the required fields (marked with *), use the drop down menus to map each field name to the Import Column.
Step 13 Once all fields have been mapped, click Import.
Step 14 All added branches, and a status message with the total number of branches added, will be displayed in the lower right-hand corner of the CDP system.
Step 15 From the top menu, click "Geocode All Locations".
Step 16 Select the desired Geocode year from the drop-down menu.
Step 17 Once the correct Geocode Year is displayed, click Process.
Step 18 Click Edit on any branch line item to display the branch geocode details.
After Geocoding has been applied to all locations, both the latitude and longitude fields should be populated. This will ensure that the branches will display on maps created within the CDP, when the branch layer is enabled.
Step 19 Click Save once branch details have been verified.
Step 20 To delete a location (if needed later), click the checkbox next to the name of the desired location within the list
