A Personalized URL (PURL) is a unique web address tailored for each recipient in a marketing campaign, enabling personalized content delivery and precise tracking of individual engagement.
To create and launch a PURL email campaign, follow these steps:

Set Up Your Domain (Details Page):
- Use your default sub-domain or create a new one with an A record pointed to
206.71.80.80
. - Ensure each PURL campaign has a unique sub-domain or campaign name to avoid conflicts.
- The PURL link consists of your Sub-Domain and Campaign Name which are collected on the details page, plus the PURL ID which will be imported from the upload data (.csv file). The PURL ID generally consists of first or last name or a combination.

Define Merge Fields:
- Specify merge fields in the Digital Communications platform that will be used in both the landing page and the email. These fields will pull personalized data for each recipient.

Prepare the Landing Page:
- Design a personalized web page (landing page) in HTML, incorporating merge fields to display individualized information such as approved loan amounts, interest rates, and loan terms.
- Paste the HTML into the Digital Communications platform's editor. Use the
<>Source
option to toggle between source code and preview. - Optionally, enable security validation to add a unique code in the email, which recipients must enter on the PURL page for added security.

Publish and Upload Recipient Data the PURL:
- Prepare a
.csv
file containing recipient details, including unique PURL IDs (e.g., combinations of first and last names) and any other merge data. Ensure each PURL ID is unique. - Include a header row with alphanumeric characters and no spaces, which will be used to map the uploaded data to the PURL and email.
- If you will be using the PURL link for direct mail an email address does not need to be included.

Map Data Fields:
- Map the data from the uploaded
.csv
file to the corresponding merge fields in the Digital Communications platform. - Once published, review the PURL information by clicking on the name of the PURL and Data Upload Summary.
- If delivering PURLs via direct mail, download the Direct Mail Only list, which provides all necessary information for print.

- Design the email intended to deliver the PURL link. Ensure to select the 'PURL' option (not 'Standard') to link the email to the PURL landing page.
- Connect the email to the published PURL by selecting it from the dropdown menu.
- Insert the PURL link and any security validation codes as merge fields within the email.
