Marketing Automation emails are data driven. A marketing automation or decision tree has certain conditions built into the offer that determine which email is sent. Marketing Automation emails are sent through Digital Communications On Demand and will be triggered emails.
An example with an onboarding automation the open date is used to send emails at a specific time. The condition for a welcome offer could be "if Open Date is 1 day before the file is dropped". The next email you would set the condition to be "If Open Date is 7 days before the file is dropped". The decision tree will process the emails in order from top to bottom and will deliver the first offer the email qualifies for.
Marketing path emails are a series of emails that are sent based on an action or behavior. The initial email in the series is sent upon upload or your chosen launch date. The emails will then be sent dependent on the rules created within the path. Examples of actions or behaviors include click specific link, click any link, unopened email, or opened but no survey response.
